Day 5 (and thatapos;s all folks):
1. The theme of the day was construction, construction, construction. My average speed was 20 less mph than the other 4 days (grr).
2. I had to stop at an agricultural inspection station when I entered California. That was different. I told the guy, "I just have a domestic cat" and pointed to the back. When he looked in at her, Mia just gave him this bored, haughty look. I was dying inside.
3. The construction had closed all lanes but one and then there was an accident. So we sat and sat and sat.
4. I feel like when you get close to the end of any trip, you tend to speed up because youapos;re almost there. And slowing down felt super slow.
5. After you get out of the mountains, california freeways are wild. When I got to the part where the 5 split off of 80, there was a sign that literally told me that if I wanted to stay on 80, use one of the left 5 lanes. Thatapos;s when it hit me that I was traveling on an 8 lane road (in one direction)
6. I got fantastic gas mileage I reached an all time high for the pilot -- 22.653 mpg.
Average Temp for the 5th (and last) Day: 83 degrees
Trip Stats:
Total Drive Time = 28 hrs : 32 mins
